Question about JRSC Prelude

I have a friend with a Prelude SH which has a Jackson Supercharger, 440 Injectors, VTEC controller, and all of the Jackson racing fuel accessories (EMS). He recently purchased a J&S Ultra V.2, and his question is: How would the J&S work in conjunction with the Jackson Racing EMS? Which would be better, let the BTC pull timing along with the J&S or have the BTC knob set at 0 clicks and have the J&S pull all the timing needed? Also how would the map limiter work with the J&S one?

the j&s makes the btc obsolete . if your putting in the j&s take the btc out . as for the map limiter i think the j&s ultra v2 has this function built in so you might be able to scrap the map mod too . if this isnt the j&s w/ the map limiter function just be shure the map mod is wired between the ecu and the j&s unit not between the j&s and the sensors as the j&s needs an unadultrated signal . the j&s requires the installer to understand all of its functions in order to have it setup right .

your friend has spent a lot of money on his car, he should probably get a standalone. he also sounds like a perfect candidate for ditching the EMS and using the VAFC hack + J&S. the EMS is somewhat dodgy and it's MAP modifier is doing basically the same thing the VAFC is trying to do. i hope he also has a cartech FMU of some sort, because getting the right amount of fuel is going to be tricky.

however, if he is set on keeping the EMS, i would probably recommend setting the retard on the J&S to zero, and using the BTC to control the predetermined retard. then the J&S will pull as necessary if he is detonating. the timing curve on the BTC appears to be somewhat optimized for JRSC use.
